Spartan Stadium is a stadium located in San Jose, California on the campus of San Jose State University. Spartan Stadium currently houses the NCAA team the San Jose State Spartans. The stadium opened under its current name in 1933 with the construction taking just over ten months. The latest renovation was in 1985 at a cost of $1.5 million.
The San Jose State Spartans are members of the Mountain West Conference of the within National Collegiate Athletic Association. They are known by their team colors consisting of blue, white and gold. Their mascot is Sammy Spartan. Past players include James Jones, Ryan Otten and Peyton Thompson.
