Led by Pastor Pam Cummings, the Sonoma United Methodist Church was established in 1850. Housed in its current Patten Street building since 1954, the Methodist Church is a historical landmark and mainstay in the community of Sonoma. The site holds regular group meetings for organizations such as teen groups, cancer-support groups and Alcoholics Anonymous. There are social organizations hosted by the church including a book club, quilting club and regular coffee socials. Sonoma United offers both a choir and a bell choir as well as three separate Sunday School classes grouped by age: under 4, 5-9 and 10 and over. A comprehensive survey of the Church's history and the founding of Sonoma can be viewed on the website.
