History
Los Angeles-based SOKAMBA Performing Arts Company has been facilitating cross-media creation since its inception in 2013. Combining cutting edge ideas and passionate artists, SOKAMBA pushes the boundaries of traditional art disciplines by intertwining elements of dance, music, animation, spoken word and software engineering into one cohesive creation. SOKAMBA engages audiences in multimedia art shows, public interactive events and community outreach programs. In 2015 SOKAMBA was invited by the International Association of the Arts -- UNESCO to curate a performance piece for the USA World Art Day Gala and was recognized by the City of Los Angeles for its valuable contribution to the public arts. This developed into a close relationship with the DTLA Art Walk Committee at which SOKAMBA has exhibit several live performance events, reaching over 12,000 guests. Since then, the collective has nurtured collaborations with groups ranging from the Plain White T's to Nokia.
