History
When my business started, it was a very part time private practice in Daly City. At that time I had a part time job at CPMC's Child Development Center. In 2012, I left CPMC to go full-time in private practice. For the next 4 years, I partnered with Kidspace SF to run my private practice until their business went through a transition and switched to an independent contract model in 2016. At this point I made the leap to opening my own private practice now known as Social Interventions. Currently, my practice includes four Social Skills Playgroups, about 30 individual families, 1 intern, 2 graduate students, and 2 prospective graduate students on staff. Pre-licensed clinicians assisting groups, goal-writing for groups, curriculum writing, and general clinic needs. Our clinic offers a 2-1 ratio of children to adults in our playgroups, and all clinicians have extensive knowledge and experience with social cognitive curriculum that we teach.
Specialties
I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and I work with a variety of issues. First and foremost, my background is in family therapy and developmental issues, such as Autism and ADHD. I've also worked with a lot with anxiety disorders, depression, and a variety of social cognitive issues. Finally, divorce and blended family issues are another situation I've had extensive experience in. Parent training and behavior management are often important pieces of my treatment plans. In addition, I also offer Social Skills Playgroups for children from 3 years of age to middle adolescence. In the last 5 to 7 years, my practice has taken on more adults, not oriented around pediatric issues. This has been an interesting supplement to my traditional work and I've enjoyed it a lot. I've worked a lot with anxious adults and adults going through significant life transitions.
