History
SO-CAL Speed Shop was founded in 1946 by Alex Xydias. Fifteen years later, Xydias closed the shop to pursue numerous other automotive industry opportunities. In 1997, Pete Chapouris, with the cooperation of Xydias, revived the iconic shop under its original name. The restored brand produced speed and chassis parts for hot rods, some well-known full-car builds (including an AMBR winner), and a successful line of T-shirts and other apparel. in 2022 SO-CAL Speed Shop moved their Headquarters and Storefront to the Famously known Route 66 in Upland California. Ran by Pete Chapouris' Son Peter Chapouris IV, SO-CAL Speed Shop has catapulted back into the Automotive Racing Scene. You can find the Red & White SO-CAL Logo on the El Mirage/Bonneville Race Car as well as the Irwindale Speedway Racetrack, Famoso Speedways Fire Trucks, and the Nitro Surfers Drag Funny Car.
