Smith Field, located at the end of Wavecrest Road, is the home turf for Half Moon Bay's Little League. To get there, turn right at the sign for Cameron's Restaurant and Inn when heading south on Highway 1.
Half Moon Bay Little League is comprised of teams in four leagues: the AAA League, Major League, Minor League, and Junior League. Players between the ages of 7 and 16 are eligible to join. The cost for each player is $65 per season. Teams practice once a week, and games are on Saturdays. More information about the League can be obtained by emailing info@hmbbaseball.org.
The field encompasses a group of five baseball diamonds clustered together (though fenced off separately) so that more than one game can be played at once. Bleachers are available for spectators, and classically-styled scoreboards bring the crowd back to a time before JumboTrons ever existed.
Dogs are not allowed on the field at any time, but there's a wide strip of grass with a trio of picnic tables on the side of one diamond, where dogs can hang out with their owners.
