History
Raymond F Spengler Jr, of Sonoma, CA, first joined the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Clearwater Squadron in Florida in 1965 and took his first cadet orientation ride in an L-16 trainer in 1966. In February of 1968, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. His businesses have included the corporate computer training and aviation fields and did extensive computer training for US Special Operations Command and US Central Command at MacDill AFB. He has combined his lifetime love of teaching aviation and technology and is Chief Flight Instructor and has managed Cessna Pilot Center flight schools since 2003 and is President and Chief Flight Instructor of Skypark Aviation LLC, a Cessna flight-training center located at the Sonoma Skypark Airport. He is a CAP Command Pilot, Chief Mission Check Pilot Examiner in California, ATP-rated (Airline Transport pilot) with over 5,400 hours of flying and over 3,300 hours of flight instruction given.
