Founded in 1912, San Francisco Municipal Railway, also known as Muni, is a public transit agency in the United States. The agency carries more than 200 million customers annually. It operates a fleet of streetcars, cable cars, diesel buses, electric trolley coaches, and alternative fuel and light rail vehicles. San Francisco Municipal Railway is a part of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, which holds community meetings for bike projects. The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency manages on-street parking through meters and color curbs. The agency operates public garages and sells parking meter cards. In addition, it manages the Department of Parking and Traffic.
