History
Watsu (water/Shiatsu) was developed by Harold Dull at Harbin Hot Springs, right here in Northern California, in the 1980s. And it continues to evolve today. The movements are based on the meridian stretches of Shiatsu. Watsu is used in physical rehabilitation facilities, centers of holistic therapy, aquatic centers and spas around the world. Priya began doing Watsu in Folsom, California just this year.
Specialties
Watsu is aquatic bodywork. To say it's massage in warm water (96 degrees) really doesn't do it justice. Watsu is a graceful flow of movements that bend and stretch, rocked and nurture the client. It results in deep relaxation and profound changes in the autonomic nervous system.
