History
The Sacramento Piano Conservatory was founded by concert pianist and composer Tanya Vegvary Plescia, and is the blossoming of her private teaching studio which began in 1988. Tanya has always had a passion to hand down the tradition of solid piano technique which has been passed down to her by her teacher, Duane Hampton, and which has been handed down by generations stemming directly from Beethoven. This tradition is preserved in the oral tradition, and can still be learned today if the teacher has the technique themselves. Ms. Plescia has this technique, and feels it is a great honor to pass it down to her students. The Sacramento Piano Conservatory has grown to include a staff of teachers, hand picked and trained by Ms. Plescia, and also offers group classes for children under the Music for Young Children program.
