The Sacramento Chinese Community Service Center was founded in 1978 to aid newly arrived Chinese immigrants in dealing with the myriad challenges of immigration and cultural adaptation. Its programs help non-Chinese immigrants, refugees and other disadvantaged groups, including the Hmong, Mien, Vietnamese, Ukrainian and Russian populations in Sacramento. The Center serves more than 4,000 clients each year, including a significant number of youth at risk and the elderly. The Sacramento Chinese Community Service Center collaborates with agencies, businesses and institutions, such as California Capital, California Department of Public Health, Chinese American Council of Sacramento, Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA) and United Way, to name a few.
