History
RAFFMA at California State University , San Bernardino opened its doors to the public in 1996. Since then, the museum has grown to one of the major cultural centers in the community and surrounding Inland Empire region. Home to what is considered the largest collection of Ancient Egyptian Art in Southern California, RAFFMA has accumulated a collection of close to 1,200 objects focusing on ceramics, ancient and contemporary art; the largest of which includes some 500 pieces encompassing over 4,000 years of Egyptian history. About 7,500 square feet of gallery space. Host to over 150 emerging artists and 50,000 visitors, including 10,000 school children, The Museum's audience consists of university students, faculty and staff, groups of school children (K-12) and members of the local community as well as visitors to the region.
