The newspaper serves the Pajaro Valley with a three-day-a-week publication schedule and a Web site. The paper's history goes back to 1868 when the Pajaronian was first published. A rival, the Register, launched in 1894. More than four decades later, the two merged to become the Register Pajaroian. The paper won a Pulitzer in the 1950s and today serves about 6,000 readers in Watsonville, Corralitos, Aptos, Aromas and North Monterey County.
