History
PROXY was conceived in the economic downturn as a response to developers abandoning lots made vacant by the destruction of the former Central Freeway in San Francisco's Hayes Valley. PROXY's lease with the City of San Francisco was recently extended until 2021, allowing for a more rigorous exploration into flexible urbanism and the value of architecture designed to disappear.
