HistoryB.I.C. Security Systems was founded in 1987 by Paul Butler in Modesto, California. For the first two years or so, B.I.C. Security Systems was a low-profile company installing fire and security systems for large companies – the most prominent company being Pep Boys Automotive – for which Paul traveled throughout the country.

In 1989, Paul formed a partnership with Ken Gomer. Ken has been in the alarm industry since 1983, and he supplied the necessary sales experience to expand the company. Together, they acquired a C-7 low-voltage license and later a full C-10 electrical license. In 1998, B.I.C. Security Systems became a U.L.-certified fire-alarm installation company.
