History
* Open Saturdays 1-4 or by appointment * This 1905 colonial revival-style house at 519 Grand Avenue was originally located at the northwest corner of Grand and Spruce Avenues. The house was built by Dr. Harry (aka Henry) Garriston Plymire, one of South San Francisco's first physicians and a founding father. Throughout the years the house was many things: a boarding house, men's club, and finally a private residence. When the last private owner (Margarete Schwarz, widow of Ernst) passed away in 1993 she bequeathed the property to the Historical Society of South San Francisco. It was designated a historical house and transformed into a museum.
