Pioneer Elementary School strives to make its students active members of the community. The school has an engaging curriculum and a caring, supportive staff to help meet the specialized learning needs of its students. It has an extensive media center collection, along with a computer lab and classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art Mac computers. Pioneer also has extensive co-curricular programming, which includes musical, drama and dance groups. The school offers after-school seasonal sports and arts programs, along with a fee-based before- and after- school childcare service, Kids First, which provides supervised homework help and themed daily activities.
Performing at levels above the state and school district averages, Pioneer students achieved high Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) results, with 62 percent proficient or advanced in language arts, 72 percent proficient or advanced in math and 63 percent proficient or advanced in science.
