Established in 1959, the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training sets minimum selection and training standards for California law enforcement. The organization employs more than 120 staff members, as well as offers services to over 550 agencies. It provides job-related assessment tools, management counseling services, reimbursement for training and leadership training programs.
