History
Pacific Printing was established in October of 1972. The original and still current owner Mr. Murphy had been in the printing business since 1961. Santa Clarita was usually referred to as Newhall, Saugus or Canyon Country. The paper companies from Los Angeles would not deliver to such a remote location so we had to drive into L.A. to pick up our supplies. UPS didn't offer delivery or pickup in the SCV. To ship via UPS required a trip to Sylmar to their facility there. The only other alternative was to ship via Greyhound bus at the local Greyhound station run by Mr. Fortine. Our equipment consisted of a Chief 15 offset press, a Kluge platen letterpress and an Intertype hot lead linecasting machine for typesetting. Those pieces of equipment and an unbelievable amount of hard work and optimism allowed us to survive in a community with less than a fifth of the current population. We have amazing employees and technology with which to server our customers. Try us and be amazed.
