Orville R. Lewis Jr. Park is dedicated to the memory of the community's longstanding police commander, Orville R. Lewis Jr. Nestled in a residential housing track off of Los Alamitos Boulevard, the park is deceptively larger than it looks from the street. At 1.7 acres, it is larger than most of the city's neighborhood parks, and it offers enough room for a soccer or baseball practice. It also features two picnic tables, some park benches and a playground with four slides, swings, monkey bars and a sand pit. The park backs up to the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Base, and it can be a great place to watch the military helicopters come and go. The park does include portable restroom unit.
