Orinda Theatre is a movie palace located in the lush City of Orinda in northern California about 18 miles of San Francisco. Its tall "shark fin" neon tower and bright marquee has been a beacon in the East Bay since its opening on December 27, 1941. The theatre was built for and operated by Donald Rheem. It was designed by father & son architects Alexander Aimwell Cantin & Alexander McKenzie Cantin. The original architecture and design are lovingly maintained by its current operator, Zemrak - Pirkle Production LLC.
