Nutrition & Education International (NEI) is a Pasadena-based organization dedicated to eradicating malnutrition in Afghanistan. Through their various initiatives, including soybean seed research and production, soy farming, soy food culture development, soy processing, women empowerment and entrepreneurship, and emergency food aid, NEI aims to provide sustainable solutions to combat malnutrition and empower vulnerable communities.
NEI's impact is evident through their provision of emergency food aid to over 3,000 internally displaced families in refugee camps in Kabul, where acute malnutrition is prevalent. Additionally, NEI has trained more than 125,000 farmers in 34 provinces, with 80 of them making soybean farming their livelihood. Through their focus on women empowerment and entrepreneurship, NEI equips women with skills in tailoring and poultry farming, enabling them to achieve financial self-sufficiency. With a commitment to making a lasting difference, NEI continues to address the urgent nutritional needs of Afghan communities.
