Founded by the Sisters of Notre Dame in 1928, Notre Dame School serves Catholic education to the families of the greater Chico area, primarily serving St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. The school serves students in kindergarten through grade seven. Its academic curriculum includes language arts, mathematics, social studies, science and fine arts. Notre Dame School has a staff of instructional specialists in music, art, Spanish, and physical and gifted education. The school offers a half-day kindergarten program for elementary-grade students. Notre Dame School has a library and media center that offers various books, newspapers, magazines and encyclopedias. It supplies crayons, watercolors, notebooks, scissors, glue sticks and boxes for elementary-grade students. The school also conducts classes in Bible studies and stories. Notre Dame School is located in Chico, Calif.
