North High School is an educational institution that serves students in grades 9 through 12. Its academic curriculum includes reading, English, math, fine arts, science, social studies, music, and vocational, health and physical education. The school also conducts gifted and talented education classes. North High School offers opportunities for students to participate in a range of sports activities, including baseball, basketball, swimming, tennis, football, golf, cross-country, volleyball, softball, and track and field. The school maintains a parent-teacher club that subsidizes awards annually for achievements in academics, sports, band, choir and drama, as well as helps students in funding newspapers and year books. It supports the fishing, French, journalism, photography and Spanish clubs. The school operates a library and coordinates a guidance counseling program. North High School has an annual enrollment is more than 2,000 students and is comprised of over 80 staff members. Its facilities include an auditorium, amphitheater, cafeteria and gymnasium. The school is a part of the Kern High School District.
