Nina Anderson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working with individuals and couples in the area of adoption, infertility and family formation for over fifteen years. In addition, she has over ten years in the public child welfare sector. Nina created her specialized practice after recognizing there was gap in support, services and education for adopting parents, birth parents and adoptees as well as for those experiencing infertility, reproductive assistance technology and surrogacy. In order to meet the needs of her clients, Nina has built into her practice the ability to have flexibility with her scheduling of appointments recognizing that it is difficult to plan for many events in the adoption process. Nina offers in-person sessions in her office in San Francisco. Nina is able to to travel for a session on a case by case basis. Skype and telephone sessions are also offered.

Nina provides counseling: ~ for those experiencing infertility including the loss and traumatic aspects of infertility, experiences with assisted reproductive technology, and exploring routes to parenthood. ~ for Pre-Adopting and Adopting parents to help support this emotional journey as well as provide strategies and techniques to navigate the adoption process. ~ to Expectant Parents who are considering an adoption plan as well as providing support with grief, loss and trauma to Birth Parents after placing their child for adoption, recently or in the past. ~ to those who are considering searching and reuniting with their birth family or their birth child. ~ to adopted persons, helping to support identity and connections to family. Nina also provides Adoption Consultation and Education (private or seminars) to help you gain information and knowledge regarding specific adoption issues so you can make decisions that you feel are best, as you create your family.
