History
I have 10 years of experience working with clients who represent a wide range of age, culture, race, socio-economic status and sexual orientation. In addition to private practice I have worked extensively with at-risk youth and their families as director of a national mentoring program funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention as well as being a Therapeutic Mentor for teens in crisis. I am also an experienced group facilitator of adults and teens in anger management, substance abuse and emotional awareness.
Specialties
I work with individuals and couples using a strength-based approach that is interactive, collaborative and informed by the latest research on attachment theory, neuroscience, and mindfulness. I see each person as more than the problem they walk in with, emphasizing their unique strengths and resilience as the most important ingredients for healing. I specialize in working with men to help deepen their capacity to understand and manage complex emotional states so they can have more self-confidence and greater satisfaction in their relationships. I believe choosing to start therapy is a sign of STRENGTH not weakness. Are you stuck in old patterns of procrastination, fear or conflict that are interfering with your relationships? Do you feel you could be happier but don't know how? Exploring these questions is a core part of therapy and can help you cultivate the most important relationship of all - the one that colors everything you think, feel and do - your relationship with yourself. Whether your challenge is depression, anxiety, grief, relationships, addictions or career challenges - all you need to get started is the desire to CHANGE.
