HistoryBon Air Cottage is a small, private, residence for the mentally ill. We are a non-profit facility located in beautiful Marin County, California, and serving residents from the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. Bon Air Cottage was founded in 1975 by parents of a young teenage daughter who was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Their goal was to provide a safe, supportive home environment where residents could begin to heal, regain their confidence and rebuild their lives. Since that time, we have helped our residents successfully interrupt the cycle of re-hospitalization. We accomplish that through the integrated support system of health care management, staff and community relationships, and the supervised environment we offer. Our residents not only survive but thrive in a house they call home with the average residential stay of over 25 years.SpecialtiesBon Air Cottage provides residential care for adults with chronic mental illness, such as schizophrenia.
