Nevada Elementary School, opened in 1960, is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. The school enrolls students in kindergarten through grade five. It provides special education and programs for gifted and talented students. Nevada Elementary School s academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as math, science, language arts, English, social studies and physical education. The Los Angeles Unified School District operates more than 100 elementary, middle and high schools. The school district also includes Franklin Elementary School, Lockwood Elementary School and South Gate Middle School.
