Founded in 1890, Sequoia & Kings Canyon is a national park that features more than 240 caves and over 1,500 plant species. It offers a range of adventure and recreational activities, such as picnicking, hiking, wildlife viewing, camping, wilderness trips, horseback riding, cave tours, rock climbing, skiing and snowshoeing. The park also organizes field seminars for the public. Its museum has a collection of several cultural, natural history and scientific resources. Sequoia & Kings Canyon is located in Three Rivers, Calif., and is a part of National Park Service, which is a network of more than 400 natural, cultural and recreational sites throughout the United States. It is a bureau within the Department of the Interior.
