If you come to Half Moon Bay for the beach and find there is no sun, it might be worth your while to make a quick stop at Nano's Yogurt Shack. This Hawaiian-themed yogurt shop will make you feel like you are in a sunny, tropical locale. Besides the beach mural running the length of the restaurant, there are surfboards, trophy fish, paintings of palm trees and bright yellow walls. It is hard to get sunnier than that, especially in Half Moon Bay.
Owners Nano and Rebecca Kavaliku offer a rotating selection of six yogurt flavors and a toppings bar, so you can experiment with different flavor combinations. Nano's also has old-fashioned hot dogs and foccacia sandwiches. There's a small Fisher-Price picnic table for small children.
