Division of Juvenile Justice is a division in the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, whose secretary reports directly to the governor, and serves on his cabinet. The division carries out its responsibilities through three divisions, juvenile facilities, programs, and parole services divisions. Division of Juvenile Justice provides a range of training and treatment services for the youth, committed by courts and directs offenders, to participate in community and victim restoration activities. It also assists local justice agencies with efforts to control crime and delinquency, and provides various programs to encourage development of state and local programs to prevent crime and delinquency. The division receives its offender population from both juvenile and superior court referrals. Division of Juvenile Justice is headquartered in Sacramento, Calif.
