I have always believed not only that everyone has the ability to learn an instrument, but that everyone should give it a try. The secret to a successful learning experience, however, is often the teacher. As it often working musicians who teach lessons to supplement their income, there is a wide gap in the world of music teachers. The more professional musicians often become frustrated quickly with students moving at a slow pace and the more casual musicians often fail to help students accomplish their true abilities. This is why, for the past 10 years, I have been fully committed solely to teaching. I meet each student at their level. If you prefer to be casual, I will teach you bit by bit and mold you into a talented musician at your own speed. And, if you have the drive and determination to practice hours a week, I will challenge you and shape you into the next great performer. Similarly, I believe that music does not have an age limit. While most of my students are somewhere between elementary school and middle adulthood, I also teach young children how to enjoy and appreciate music by learning to clap simple rhythms and play basic melodies on the piano. And, I also enjoy teaching retired men and women how to spark or rekindle a passion for music in their glory years. Whoever you are and whatever you hope to accomplish by learning an instrument, you have found the right teacher.
