The Multi-Cultural Convention Services Network was created to fulfill a market that was being underserved in the city of San Diego. This market is the ethnic hospitality and tourism market, which consists of the Asian, African American, Hispanic and Native American associations, corporations and leisure travelers. Thus the annual Multicultural FAM Tour was created to invite national meeting planners to showcase the best that the city of San Diego has to offer from a cultural perspective. The FAM Tour marketing efforts resulted in increased tourism revenue for the city.
