History
The Mothers' Milk Bank connects breastfeeding moms who have surplus milk to infants whose own mothers cannot provide it and need this milk to increase their chances for survival. MMB tests both the donors and their milk for bacteria and viruses, then pasteurizes the milk and fulfills prescriptions for families in hospitals as well as outpatients. As a non-profit organization and licensed tissue bank, ours is the oldest in the country and helped found the Human Milk Banking Association of North America, which governs nonprofit milk bank safety practices and distribution protocols.
Specialties
The Mothers' Milk Bank has a mission to collect, process and distribute breast milk for infants and children who have life threatening conditions and support mothers to breastfeed.
