Monterey Bay Salmon & Trout Project (MBSTP) is a dedicated organization focused on the recovery and preservation of native salmon and steelhead populations in the greater Monterey Bay region. With a mission to save endangered species such as the Central California Coast coho salmon and restore threatened steelhead populations of the San Lorenzo River, MBSTP is committed to training the next generation of conservationists through their Salmon Trout Education Program (STEP).
Through their genetic conservation hatchery, MBSTP aims to sustain and recover salmonids native to the Monterey Bay area, and they rely on donations to make this possible. With programs dedicated to coho salmon recovery, steelhead restoration, and enhancing local sport and commercial fisheries, MBSTP invites individuals to be a part of salmon and trout conservation in the Monterey Bay area by subscribing to their mailing list.
