Founded in 1946 by Bert Jones, Miller Avenue Church is a small Baptist community headed by Pastor Kent Philpott. Although it has been in existence for more than 60 years, the church is known for its extensive use of modern technology to reach out. The church streams its weekly Sunday morning service live on its Web site, and Philpott hosts two religious programs on Channel 26, Marin's public-access channel. Those shows, as well as a number of Philpott's sermons, also stream from the church's Web site. Philpott has been pastor at Miller Avenue Church for 26 years.
