History
The History of Meadowlark Church In the 1950's Alberta L. Bell moves to Meadowlark Ranch with her son, Volney, and daughter-in-law, Hope. Through Alberta's efforts and with the assistance of the Congregational Church, the first worship service is held October 18, 1959 under the leadership of Rev. Robert Snelling. This first service is held in the Old Red Barn, which is shared with the Catholic congregation, now known as St. Mark's Catholic Church in San Marcos. Meadowlark Church establishes itself as an independent congregation in 1964. We meet in the Ranch House after the Old Red Barn burns to the ground. In 1992 we complete construction on the current sanctuary. In 2001 Rev. Dr. Dave Shaw heeds the call to serve Meadowlark as pastor. He is followed by Rev. Jake Duran, in 2002, who comes to serve as Pastor of Youth and Visitation. In 2003, Daybreak Community Church in Carlsbad, California, appoints teaching pastor Raymond van Pletsen to plant a church in the new, neighboring comm
