Oakland Planning and Zoning Division is comprised of zoning, major projects and strategic planning. The division focuses on processing development permits and carries out planning processes. It has processed more than 1,200 development permits and answered for over 19,500 telephone inquiries. The division has assisted nearly 15,000 counter visits and specializes in updating the Oakland Planning Code. It staffs project, zoning and strategic planning managers.
