History
Marin Community Music School was founded by San Anselmo resident David A. Lusterman, It was originally called String Letter Music School and operated as an arm of String Letter Publishing, publishers of Acoustic Guitar, Classical Guitar, Strings, and Ukulele magazines. In 2011, the school became an independent California public benefit corporation, and in 2012 received 501(c)3 status from the IRS as a non-profit educational institution. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors who reside in the Bay Area.
Specialties
Friendly, expert music instruction is now available to students of all ages in the Ross Valley's community music school. Since opening in October 2009, we've taught hundreds students, from kids just starting out to lifelong musicians in their 80s. We offer lessons, classes, workshops, and ensembles, with lots of performance opportunities
