The newest elementary school addition to the Murrieta Valley Unified School District, Lisa J. Mails Elementary seeks to achieve academic excellence through a focus on visual and performing arts. Students are exposed to the arts through six- to 12-week sessions.
The Monarch Butterflys' motto is "HEART: Harmony, Empathy, Achievement, Reflection and Transformation."
Housed on campus are a state preschool, an award-winning School Readiness Program and paid child care.
Students from Lisa J. Mails feed into Dorothy McElhinney Middle School and Vista Murrieta High School.
The school's namesake, Lisa J. Mails, was a teacher at E. Hale Curran Elementary and a role model to other teachers in the district before she passed on at age 52 in 2005.
