History
After over seventy years of service to America, McClellan Air Force Base was deactivated on March 8, 2001. But the story only begins here. All of the Base, and the operation of McClellan Air Force Base's historic Officer Clubs and Officer Quarters in particular, were transferred from the Air Force to McClellan Business Park, who for months had been planning to convert these facilities into deluxe hospitality venues. This led to the start of Lions Gate Hotel. Today Lions Gate Hotel - A Trademark Hotel Collection encompasses over thirty acres of historic buildings and grounds that once comprised many of the former Air Force base's premiere facilities. Several million dollars have been invested to preserve the unique setting that makes up our Club House, The O'Club Restaurant & Lounge, Theater, Meeting Center, McClellan Conference Center, Chapel, Hotel and Cottage Suites, Freedom Park and the Aerospace Museum.
