LAFD Fire Station 88 was the first crew in California to be called into action in the search and rescue after the attacks on 9/11. Last year there was a memorial at the station for the fallen firefighters of New York where the center piece of the memorial is a fountain showcasing a steel beam from the twin towers and a piece of limestone from the pentagon.
Station 88 serves the residents of Sherman Oaks and Van Nuys in fire protection and EMT services.
