As the United States's second largest public library, the LA Law Library provides access to legal materials and legal information to government officials, the legal and business communities and the general public; it has been operating since the early 1900s. In addition to the general collection of legal materials, Internet access and PC stations, four photocopy machines are also available for card holders.
The library also has collections in courthouses in Norwalk, Long Beach, Torrance, Pomona and Santa Monica. Additionally, it is partnered with four other public libraries: Los Angeles Public Library, Van Nuys Branch, Lancaster Regional Library, Compton Library and Pasadena Public Library.
