In 1936, Jack Moore founded J.M. Equipment as the Allis Chalmers tractor dealer in San Joaquin County, Calif. Ten years later the name was changed to J.M. Equipment. It began as a farm tractor and implement company and expanded into the forklift business in 1960. The company represented the Allis Chalmers line of forklift trucks, as well as Cushman carts, and warehousing and material handling equipment. It sold and serviced machinery to local accounts, such as Tri Valley Growers, Gallo Wine, Davis Canning, Vendo Corporation and Del Monte Foods. J.M. Equipment supplies farm equipment, implements, forklifts and material handling products to farmers and industrial businesses in the Central Valley of California. The company and its employees are honored every year by major suppliers for being one of the leading dealers in the United States for salesmanship management and customer service. J.M. Equipment has headquarters in Modesto, Calif., and locations in Stockton, West Sacramento, Fresno and Patterson, Calif.
