Home of the Eagles, Monroe Elementary School is part of the San Leandro Unified School District. It's located adjacent to Floresta Park and across the I-880 from Corvallis Elementary School, which is in the neighboring San Lorenzo School District.
Monroe has three special day classes with a total of 60 students. The school has a new computer lab, a library and a music and arts room. Monroe offers intramural sports and an after school program that runs from 2pm to 6pm.
A room where parents can use computers and other resources is set to open soon.
Monroe has an active PTO and Site Council. It also maintains partnerships with local businesses and is supported by the Floresta Homeowners Association.
