Isabel G. Newton, MD, PhD is a board-certified diagnostic and interventional radiologist specializing in liver cancer treatment. As the chief of Interventional Radiology at the VA San Diego Healthcare System and an associate professor at UC San Diego Health, Dr. Newton performs minimally invasive, image-guided procedures and leads research efforts to improve liver cancer treatment. She is also dedicated to trainee education, promoting equity and diversity, and enhancing trainee and faculty wellness.
Dr. Newton co-founded the Interventional Initiative, a nonprofit organization that educates the public about minimally invasive, image-guided procedures.
