iPhone Repair SF was started after the owner, Ed Varga, broke the LCD of his own iPhone 3G. Apple told him it was unfixable and that he had to buy a new phone. A year later he dropped that replacement 3GS into a cup of coffee. Again, Apple said the only solution was to buy a new phone. He knew there had to be another option and started researching how to fix iPhones. This led him to take a class in cell phone repair. He chose to specialize in iPhone Repair and started the business in 2011. He operated the business on his own until 2015 when he hired his first employee technician because the business had grown. There have been 4 technicians on staff since then, most have stayed 1.5 to 2 years. Ed trains all of the technicians himself, a process that generally takes 2-3 months before the technician is allowed to work completely on their own. Since 2011 Ed and the staff at iPhone Repair SF have repaired more than 30,000 devices.
