The Independent Living Resource Center San Francisco, founded in 1976, is a disability rights advocacy and support organization. It works in partnerships with businesses, community organizations and government. Its programs and services include information and referrals, assistive technology education and support, peer and housing counseling, employment planning and individual advocacy. Through its Latino Outreach Project, the Independent Living Resource Center San Francisco provides bilingual, bicultural services to Spanish-speaking consumers with disabilities. It also assists individuals in accessing a variety of services, including housing counseling and applying for emergency housing funds; obtaining assistive technology; and evaluating information regarding medical and financial benefits.
