Il Fornaio means 'the baker' in Italian and freshly made breads and pastas have been the foundation of this restaurant chain since it was founded in 1981. There are now 16 Il Fornaios in California, serving up Italian specialities from the grill, homemade pizza with imported cheeses, individual appetizers, soups, salads and homemade pasta made on-site. Every month for a two week period, the restaurant features food from a different region of Italy. Private dining rooms and special menus are also available, along with party planning and food to go.
