History
In 2008 Red Lotus Society opened the Ideal Studio, a donation-based meditation and yoga studio. In 2009 the Ideal Hotel was re-opened as a residency and international guest house. And, in 2010, the final phase of the restoration was completed with the opening of the Tea Room at the Ideal Hotel, a gathering space for discourse, creative expression, tea culture, music, art, culture, and community events. Red Lotus Society honors the diverse, multicultural past of the Ideal Hotel. The decision to take on this project was in the interest of serving the local San Diego community by restoring a cultural treasure, and by opening a new kind of peace practice center for a new century.
